Congratulations on participating in Advanced Placement classes, courses which provide college-level academic experiences that challenge and inspire. Students who take AP courses and exams demonstrate to college admission officers that they have pursued an educational experience that will prepare them for success in college and beyond. Performing well on an AP exam means more than just the successful completion of a course. Most colleges and universities accept successful exam scores for credit, advanced placement, or both. Research consistently indicates that students who are successful in AP typically experience greater academic success in college than those who do not participate in AP programs. The 2022 AP Exams will be administered May 2 - 13. As we approach the testing dates, more details will be provided to all AP students who are planning to take AP exams. Each AP exam costs $100.00.
The state of Georgia will continue to pay for one AP exam for Georgia public school students enrolled in AP courses in one of two categories:
Category One: Public school students who individually qualify for the College Board fee reduction (example: Free Reduced Lunch). For these students, the state of Georgia will pay for one AP Exam in any subject. Paperwork must have been completed and submitted this year to receive the benefit of the free exam.
Category Two: Public school students enrolled in an AP STEM courses who do not qualify for the College Board fee reduction may qualify for one free AP STEM exam.
